Heidelberg's Historic Turning Point

We’ve reached the conclusion of the Rise & Shine Gospel Campaign! Together, we were part of a historic moment in Heidelberg, South Africa. Let’s celebrate all that God has accomplished during these four incredible days.

Throughout the entire Rise & Shine Campaign and during the Fire Camp outreaches, we witnessed 7,952 people give their lives to the Lord. Every salvation is a victory we share together—pulling lives out of darkness, addiction, and despair, and into the loving arms of Jesus.

...Yet the path to these victories was far from easy…

As you may remember from our last letter, the enemy tried to hinder God’s plan. Just two hours before the crusade began, the skies opened — thunder rolled, lightning flashed, and the temperature dropped fifteen degrees. The wind was so strong that even the instruments were blown off stage. Despite the storm, people gathered with expectation.

The Holy Spirit moved powerfully, and miracles and healings broke out. Yet as incredible as these moments were, we sensed the Lord calling us deeper—to confront the “mixture” in people’s hearts. On the streets, and even among many who called themselves Christians, we encountered a common misconception: that one could love God while still praying to ancestors or engaging in demonic rituals. We knew that only the pure Gospel could bring about the heart transformation so needed in this region.

As the Gospel was preached, hearts were convicted, and many realized they could not serve both darkness and light. When the altar call came, they were compelled to make a choice. The majority of the crowd came forward and made a bold proclamation to leave all else behind and follow Jesus.

During the final two days, attendees were given the opportunity to release everything that had held them captive—sin, curses, or their past. People brought items connected to occult practices, cigarettes, and even wrote down personal struggles on slips of paper. One by one, these items were thrown into fire barrels, symbolizing the complete destruction of the old and the beginning of a new life in Christ.

When the fire was lit, jubilation broke out — joy, freedom, and healing filled the field.

It was Adele's first time at such an event, and full of faith, she placed her hands on her knees during the healing prayer. She was healed right then but wanted to bring evidence of her healing before she testified.

The next day, Adele brought her
X-rays, her face shone with joy. She showed us the evidence of her joint condition that lasted many years. This condition made bending or straightening both knees almost impossible and extremely painful.

But now she stood before us, bending, kneeling, and moving freely — all because Jesus had healed her.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, she could show everyone: Jesus still heals today!

Due to a severe allergic reaction to medication, Soanette's body had suffered greatly. The symptoms worsened to the point where every breath was a struggle. She thought inwardly that this day might be her last. But God had other plans.

As she experienced healing, she lifted both arms to heaven, which she was unable to do before, and repeated, "Hallelujiah!"

Shocked, she looked at her body. She looked at her hands — where had all the blisters and rashes gone? Her feet, her legs — only scars remained. Suddenly, she could walk again— even dance —something she hadn’t been able to do for a long time. Even three steps had been agonizing.

As we said, it was far from easy...one night on the way home, one team member fainted, another was very sick throughout the night, a third had to be hospitalized due to lack of oxygen, and a forth was hospitalized due to high fever and dehydration.

Through all the challenges, we felt so covered in prayer by our entire Reviving The World Family. We are deeply grateful that we can do this together! Thank you!

This was just the turning point in the nation of South Africa — a time of awakening, healing, and restoration. To God be all the glory!
